DVD Wars for the Los Angeles Times

Another fun piece, although I only had about a day to do this one. The art director from the LA Times needed it ASAP, and with all the likenesses and characters it was a bit of a challenge. They gave the concept about DVD Wars with little DVD saucers zapping up movie characters. My rough was a little looser than usual. They gave me a couple characters I had to include, but I had free reign on what other characters I could add. I like how it turned out. I also included some of my inspiration for the piece.

Nice for such a quick job---or just nice. I love the inspiraton. Great work. I found you when you commented on John Hendrix's blog. Were you a student of his or just a fan? Me? A fan. And an illustrator. Take it easy.

Hey Frank. I was more into the mainstream comic book stuff. Big Mike Mignola fan. Arthur Adams, too.
